Fiordland Travel B10Ms

Designline, one of the biggest bodybuilder in New Zealand, produces many touring bus bodies for special areas or operators. The pictures below were taken on 8 February 2000 in Te Anau, New Zealand.

Te Anau is a picturesque town beside Lake Te Anau, the second largest lake in New Zealand. It is a main stop for bus journeys from Queenstown to Milford Sound. But it has become more famous as many shots of the Middle-earth in the film Lord of the Rings were taken there.

Fiordland Travel operates a small number of Designline bodied 3-axled B10M Mk III. These buses have several features different from other conventional coaches:

Inclined floor to increase the no. of rows and increase visibility of passengers at the back.
Skylights are installed at the two sides of the vehicle, so that every passenger can look above without the obstruction by air duct.
Seats are oriented a little to the two sides to increase visibility.

These buses were once the masterpieces of the bodybuilder. All the buses of Fiordland Travel have been repainted Real Journeys.
